The first thing you need to do is to start learning all you can.  The more knowledge you know the more your prospects will be willing to join your business.  You must be willing to dedicate some time to learning.

Search the internet for all the resources you can find on Internet MLM and personal development.  Learn how to get traffic and start sharing this with people.  Most people have a hard time getting traffic.

Another great way to share your information is by using a blog.  It doesn’t cost very much to set up and it isn’t that difficult to do.  It will help to brand you as someone who knows what they are doing.

You don’t have to pretend to know anything or make false claims.  You simply try things and publish your results.  If you get a sign up to your business mention it on your blog and explain how you did it.  A lot of people in this industry have trouble getting even one signup.

It boils down to taking action.  The more action you take, the more information you can share with your blog visitors and subscribers.  This will in effect make you out to be a leader.

Knowledge and experience will also help you train your sign ups.  You can tell them what is working for you and exactly what you are doing.  If they can’t do what you are doing there is no duplication and your business is dead.

One site I stumbled upon recently is the Perfect Funded Proposal.  It is designed to brand you as the expert and it will also help to train your downline.

There are many different ways to market your business and the Perfect Funded Proposal addresses many of them, both free and paid.  It contains many tutorials in the form of audio and video files.

This is a great system to be a part of because you are giving away free training to people.  You can also use it to showcase your primary business and it will even help you to build a list.

A list is very important for you to have in this industry.  It will help you to create multiple streams of income which will put more money in your pocket.

1.  The age of the company.

I think this is the most critical factor in deciding which company to work with.  You might get lucky but you also might not.

A lot of new companies come and go.  It is best to find a company that has already proven itself.  That way you will feel more secure when promoting it and building your team.

2.  The product.

The product should be something that you are interested in and that you can relate to.  It shouldn’t be hard or complicated to figure out.

Ideally, the product should also be consumable or something that is ongoing.  This is where the residual income factor comes into play.

3.  A business that is global.

If you are limited to certain areas you are limiting yourself.  A global presence will ensure that you can reach as many people as possible.

It is also better if the product or service is virtual.  By virtual I mean all online.  This way there is no shipping and handling involved.

4.  A minimal investment.

The lower the fee to enter a business the more the common person can relate to it.  If something is too expensive to join you will be turning away a lot of potential customers.

Also, if the monthly fees are lower there will be less attrition in your business.  This is very important and is a good starting point for duplication.

5.  A good compensation plan.

One thing to look for in particular is how easy it is to get into profits.  If you can break even quite easily in a business the retention rate will also be higher as well.

Once a person has at least broken even they will be more likely to stay and keep trying to build the business.

Keeping these 5 points in mind while looking for a good company can save you a lot of headaches down the road.  Beware of all the hype and the false promises.

It is very important to do your due diligence when choosing an internet MLM business.  A lot of people sign up for things on impulse.  Those are the people that end up quitting.  Knowledge is power!

1.  Residual income.

I think that is what gets most of us.  The idea of working one time and getting paid for it over and over again is very appealing.  It is basically affiliate marketing with a residual income attached to it.

When making one time sales you are always worrying where your next sale will come from.  That is why so many marketers are always marketing the latest “get rich quick” ebook.

2.  Education and experience are not major issues.

You can get involved in Internet MLM with or without a college education.  You don’t even need your high school diploma for that matter.

What matters most is your performance.  You can learn as you go along.  Although the learning curve can be steep for some, earning while you are learning is great!

3.  Free training.

It is in your sponsor’s best interest to help you and show how to market your business.  The more money you make, the more money they make.

Competition within your company is eliminated to a great extent.  You won’t have to worry about not being told everything about marketing.

4.  It works when the economy is down or up.

When times are good people will have extra money to start new business ventures.  And in times of recession people are always looking for ways to generate an extra income.

The home business niche is great to get involved in although it can be competitive.  There will always be a hungry market for this.

5.  Massive amounts of leverage.

Once you find the right people you will start seeing leverage in your business.  You can accomplish a lot more with a group of people than you could on your own.

Think about it.  If you have 50 people in your organization putting in 2 hours a week that is 100 hours of extra work that is being used to build your business each week.

6.  It helps you to grow as a person.

If you stick with this you will develop a whole new mindset and a set of different skills you can use in various scenarios.  For example, web design, people skills, patience and positive thinking.

This is where we separate the winners from losers.  No matter how negative your situation may appear to be you have to keep on trucking until you start seeing results.  Refuse to take no for an answer!

7.  It’s proven to work.

Internet MLM Marketing is one of the surest ways of developing an income that will allow you to quit your job if that is your desire.  It has been proven to work over and over again.

Other internet business models are hit and miss.  If you find a good company, follow their training, and work with your sponsor you will slowly start seeing the fruits of your labour.

I encourage you to keep this list handy when times get tough.  Now go for it!

I recently got a copy of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.  Chapter 2 is about desire and is the very first step toward reaching your financial goals.

You need to actually believe that you can do this.  If you don’t, no one else will believe you either.  They will sense it in your communications and in your actions.

Furthermore, if your desire is strong enough you will be able to carry through the necessary tasks needed to reach your goal.  You won’t just want it, you will need it.

This not only applies to your business but also to all areas of life.  If you want something bad enough you will find a way to get it.  There will be no stopping you.

I think the hardest concept to grasp is that thoughts are things.  Everything starts out with an idea.  That is what starts the process and translates your thoughts and ideas into reality.

I had real struggles with this myself but I am slowly starting to grasp this.  This allowed me to achieve goals in all areas of my life from health and fitness to finding my lifetime partner.

What you need to do is write out a plan for yourself.  This is a step most people overlook or see as unnecessary but it will make a huge difference when it comes to internet MLM success.

In practical terms you should write out a goal statement for yourself.  Include how much money you want to earn, in how much time and how you will go about doing this.

Here is an example:

“I want to earn $1600 U.S. in residual income per month by no later than 24 months from now.  I will accomplish this by marketing tools that other internet marketers need to build their business.  I will use the internet to build my business.”

Look over your statement and always keep it fresh in your mind.  This will motivate you to take the steps necessary to achieve your goal.  You can even break down your goal into smaller chunks.  For example, your first small goal could be a passive income of $400 per month.

So far I really like this book.  I will share more of what I learn as I go along.

Below are some things to consider:

1.  Winners don’t blame others for their lack of success.

Where you are right now in your business is a direct result of the actions you did yesterday.  What you do today will determine your success tomorrow.  It is that simple.

It is often easy to blame the company you are with, the quality of your leads, the money you don’t have or even your sponsor.  But when it comes down to it winners make things happen, they don’t wait for things to happen.

2.  Winners do their best to take initiative.

Your sponsor is there to guide you but at the same time they are not a babysitter.  If the answer can easily be found online then take that road first.

Try your best to go as far as you can on your own first, and then contact your sponsor.  Believe me, they will see this quality in you and see you as a winner.

3.  Winners see the big picture.

Creating a job killing income isn’t something that can be accomplished overnight.  That is what the hucksters are selling and that is why so many people program hop.

There will be times when business is slow and you are not seeing immediate results.  You need the intestinal fortitude to move on and see the big picture.  Don’t be among the majority of those who fail.

4.  Winners are coachable and teachable.

You don’t need to try and reinvent the wheel.  Your sponsor is successful for a reason.  After all, they signed you up didn’t they?  It is wise to listen to their advice.

It is natural to be sceptical and think that certain things won’t work.  However, it is in your best interest to try things out for yourself.  No matter how unconventional something may seem to you, keep an open mind!

5.  Winners take risks.

You will never get further ahead in life by staying in your comfort zone.  You should push yourself and come out of your shell.  Whether that means learning HTML or calling someone on the telephone.

This is a business.  So treat it like a business and it will start paying you like a business.  People want to follow leaders.  People that will help them get what they want.  Now go for it!

One of my favourite products he has produced is called “Building Your Network Marketing Business.”  He really explains things in a clear manner.  Things I had never really thought of before.

What really struck me was the section where he discusses the law of averages.  He states that when you begin exposing your business to others that a ratio will appear.  That is then how you can determine what it will take to meet your financial goals.

He also makes it clear that not everyone will or even needs to join your business, and that is okay.  Furthermore he states that everyone who joins your business will perform differently.  You simply need to accept this and move on.

This is the kind of information you need to know if you want to make in this industry.  Not “if” but “when” someone drops out of your business you won’t take it so personally.  I like the way Jim puts it…  “Don’t sign up for that class.”

That is just the way things are.  Some will work harder than others and some will produce more than others.  You don’t need to chase anyone.  Think about this and view yourself.  Does someone need to constantly beg you in order for you to join or stay in the business?

If so then this industry probably isn’t for you.  And if not then why would you need to beg others to join your business?  If they are serious and not only curious they will find you.  If they have a question they will know how to get in touch.

Is it important as sponsor to make an effort to contact your downline?  Of course.  Is it your responsibility to expose your opportunity to as many as you possibly can?  Certainly.  But it isn’t your responsibility to chase people.

Here is the big secret…  You don’t need a lot of people, only the right people.  Your success depends upon finding sharp, capable people and teaching them to do the same thing.

When you understand these truths your eyes will slowly start opening to a much brighter future.  So for this Jim, I thank you!

Now that I am getting a good amount of leads with the list builders I am starting to experiment with traffic exchanges.  I created a separate page for this so that I can track my results with these as well.

I can get roughly one lead for every hour that I surf.  It does take some work but it can also help to grow your business.  I made even more adjustments to my page which I will explain.

Besides letting my video play automatically to grab more attention I also removed any outgoing links on my capture form.  My reasoning is that this might make each visitor more curious.  Testing and tracking is the key.

If you don’t have hosting Global NPN also has its own built in capture page creator.  You don’t have to worry about web hosting and you don’t need to learn HTML.  It is pretty easy to use.

You can also integrate your capture page with your Global NPN autoresponder.  This is really great if you don’t want to use the generic capture pages that the company gives you.

Our team also has great videos that you can use.  We even have capture pages as well.  They have been tested and work great.  You simply need to follow up with your prospects.

I am really pleased with my results considering it has been less than 4 weeks.  And congratulations to my team member who also brought in someone of his own.  Great job!

If you follow the training this can happen for you too.  Just learn to be patient and take things one step at a time.  What you do today will impact what will happen to you tomorrow.

I believe that MLM is the surest path for the average person to achieve financial freedom.  All it takes is planning, consistency, dedication and hard work.  Check out this video and then decide for yourself…

Once you have your lead capture page set up you should spend the majority of your time trying to drive traffic to your site and generate leads.  It is much better to generate your own leads than to buy them.

Generic business opportunity leads are just that, generic.  They filled in a form requesting information about any business, not only yours.  And these leads are often shared with other people.

When you generate your own leads at least they will have some idea who you are.  And they will be solely yours.  People often get ticked when they are contacted over and over by different people.

So what is a realistic number of leads to begin with?  If you can generate 5 leads a day you should have enough people to talk to and signing up with you in your business.  That is 35 leads each week.

Now they don’t have to be evenly spaced out.  You can get 20 one day and 15 another day.  You will get to know your numbers after awhile.  When times are slow you can follow up with the leads that you do have.

Once you get a lead send them a personal email introducing yourself.  People want to know that you are willing to help them.  Going the extra mile can often make a huge difference in your results.

Sometimes a person will sign up in your business without you even speaking with them.  It is still the best to give them a call and see if there are any questions they have and how they are doing.

So concentrate on getting 5 leads per day.  Once you do that you will start seeing some results.  It will take some time but success in business doesn’t happen overnight.

So many people fall for the hype and that is why they program hop.  If you focus on one program and keep at it you will start seeing the fruits of your labour.  If other people can make money with the business chances are that you can too!

I also started experimenting with different variables.  I set my video on my lead capture page to automatically play when the page is displayed.  This is more likely to get a person’s attention.

I also made my capture page go directly to my offer.  You want to make it as easy as possible for someone to signup.  They can always confirm their subscription later.

You can change these variables quickly using the MultiSponder Elite.  It is a great tool and the best thing about it is that it is part of your membership.  I recommend spending a little time learning about all the features it has.

To me, list builders are much better than traffic exchanges.  Another hot tip is to click for credits in addition to the credits included in your gold membership.

Normally you can email 9,000 people twice per week.  Two of the ones I am signed up with let you email 1,500 more people and one lets you email 1,000 people.  So instead of 18,000 people you are emailing 26,000 people each week.

You can also test different emails to see which ones work the best.  Try different headlines and also change the body of your messages.  When you find something that works well keep using that message for awhile.

The bottom line is not to get frustrated and discouraged.  This is a marathon not a sprint.  It is going to take a massive amount of traffic for you to start seeing results.  After creating a capture page, getting traffic should be your main priority.

Start with one way of getting traffic and keep at it until you see results.  Only then should you move on to the next way.  Staying focussed is one of the hardest things to do online.  I know because I have been there.

Now that I am learning to focus I am starting to see results.  Think of the word focus as Follow One Course Until Action.  Just keep at it with your main goal in mind.  Even when you don’t feel like it!

This is also true when it applies to advertising your business on the internet.  You might think that it costs too much or you might be afraid that it won’t work.  You have to get over this hump if you are going to make it online.

Yes, you can get results if you have a lot of time and patience.  But if you want to explode your business right off the bat and you want to free up your time it will take some money.

This is where proper mindset comes into play.  Most advertising sources for your business will have an affiliate program attached to it.  When you get a new signup into your business simply refer them to the advertising sources that are working for you.

I use list builders for example.  Most will allow you to advertise your business to 3,000 random people twice each week.  If you sign up for 3 of them that’s 18,000 people per week.  Some will even let you click for credits on top of that so you can email even more people each week.

And I’m just getting started!  This is where the benefit of a team comes in.  You will learn things you could never learn on your own.

I tried to generate my own leads in the past and wasn’t very successful.  Now I am starting to get more and more coming in.

Now here is where it gets even better.  Once you refer a couple of people your advertising is basically free.  And the best part is that the OTO’s (One Time Offers) are good for the whole year!  You can email 18,000 people twice per week for a whole year.

Now you see what I am getting at about mindset.  It is simply a matter of “making” things work for you.  It is all how you look at things.  If you want to get your business off the ground quickly I recommend taking this advice to heart.
